Here are some reasons why Anita Doth & Ray Slijngaard split up:
1) They didn''t feel like extending their contract for another 5 years.
2) Anita wanted to do more "dance"-like stuff, while Ray said he wanted to do more "hip hop" and "r&b" stuff.
3) They both just wanted to go "solo".

Anita Doth (aka "Anita Dels") decided to go "solo".

After Anita & Ray split up, Phil Wilde & Jean-Paul DeCoster
((the 2unlimited producers) held auditions for a "NEW" 2unlimited; then they found "replacements" which turned out to be two female vocalists named Romy&Marion(Marjon).
The NEW 2unlimited started about 1998.
Their style of music was completely different from the ORIGINAL 2unlimited. Since neither of them could rap, they only did vocals.
Their style of music was sort of like dance-pop.
After a while, the producers told Romy&Marion that they could not write their own songs even though they were promised they could. This really pissed Romy off, so she left. Marion and the producers didn''t think they could continue "2unlimited"... so that''s when it ended. Marion left 2unlimited as well.
Thanks to the stupidity of those producers (Phil&Jean-Paul), 2 Unlimited has died off... but the original Dutch-duo (Anita&Ray) will always be remembered; because their music and talent will never fade away. They will never die, because they are eternal
